Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a former supermodel and currently the First Lady of France, has long been a sensation in much of Europe, with paparazzi chronicling her every move and gossip columnists reporting on her peripatetic romantic life and her dalliances with rock stars and other celebrities. Now, amid reports that she and her husband, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, might be nearing a messy divorce — reports that Bruni-Sarkozy, at least, refutes — it seems “La Bruni” is again destined to have her life examined in a very public way.
